Squad Coaching at Brampton Golf Club
The session was run by the two Professionals Simon Kerr and Matty Lamb who had previously played on the DP tour and was a member of the Walker Cup Team.
The coaching took place on the short game practice area where the pros had devised some great exercises with tips and hints which the ladies enjoyed and found useful. Twelve ladies attended the coaching which lasted for two hours. The ladies were then given the freedom to play the course.
Feedback from some of the ladies was very positive. All in all, it was a good day and the weather was very kind to us.
Sadly, I was so engrossed that I forgot to take any photos!

On Monday April 7th, members of the Cumbria Vets ladies Squad met at Yarm Golf Academy in Co. Durham to take part in a practice session led by Alan Hope, who is the professional there.
Alan has over 45 years of experience of playing and teaching golfers of all levels. He has worked in England for 25 years, Scotland for 12 years and the USA for 3 years and has himself, played for 2 years on the European tour.
The ladies worked with him on the range for 1 1/2 hours and we then transferred to Eaglescliffe Golf Course which was about 3 miles away.
After some lunch, and in lovely sunny weather, Alan went out with them on the course to give them an insight into how to play it. These helpful tips will hopefully be of use when the ladies play Durham there in the Richardson trophy later in the year.
Some of the ladies played 10 holes and some 18 and once finished they left to return to Cumbria.
