Match at Penrith Golf Club against Super Senior Men
We had an excellent day at Penrith for the match which was played in a very friendly manner. The weather was mostly kind to us with the sun showing itself at times although there was a cool wind.
The match was played over 16 holes as there was currently a tree felling operation going on. The format was 4BBB stableford with full handicap. A point was awarded to the winning pair in each fourball. The results of each match were very close with the men wining 4:2.
Overall, it was a lovely day played in great spirits with a meal to follow.
As the men would like this to become an annual event we discussed the purchase of a small trophy and the possibility of next year’s match taking place at Ulverston Golf Club.

Friendly v Super Senior ex-county team - Friday 4th April at Seascale Golf Club
On Friday 4th April at Seascale, the county vets ladies squad took part in a friendly against the Super Seniors ex county team. it was a sunny day, but as it normally is at Seascale, there was a strong wind so the conditions were quite tricky.
Although it was a friendly atmosphere and played in good spirit, both teams were keen on a victory. The format was 4bbb matchplay and the result was a draw 3 - 3 which seemed a fair result.
After the game there was some social time as the teams had a meal together, making it a very enjoyable friendly match.

Friendly v County Men’s Senior Team. March 23rd at Brampton Golf Club
The County Vets Squad, along with some of the County Squad and some County Juniors were welcomed at Brampton Golf Club on March 23rd to play a friendly against the County Men’s Senior team.
They played 4BBB matchplay for the first nine holes followed by Foursomes matchplay on the back nine and at the end of the match a roast beef dinner was waiting for them.
The results were 4BBB - Men 5 1/2 Ladies 2 1/2 and Foursomes Men 4 Ladies 4 (All Square) so the overall result was Men 9 1/2 – Ladies 6 ½, a very enjoyable friendly, played in good spirit and enjoyed by all.
